Albert Docks Original Painting
Original acrylic painting on stretched canvas of Liverpool's Albert Docks.
Albert Docks were first opened in 1846 and changed the way docks worked: the warehouses were fireproof and secure; traders could do deals before their import taxes were due; and hydraulic cranes hauled heavy cargoes. It is the largest single collection of Grade I listed buildings anywhere in the UK and was made a conservation area in 1976, and awarded World Heritage status in 2004. In 2018 it sealed Royal status and is now home to Tate Liverpool, the Beatles Museum, and the Merseyside Maritime Museum, to name a few.
